Social work is an hands on profession that strives to help people and families deal with their different problems. The exact work that social workers perform depends on their specific field. Specifically, Child Protective Service (CPS) case workers are empowered to remove children from unsafe homes and place them in state custody. They do this because of observable neglect, abuse, threat of harm and safety issues. Many of them come from lower socio-economic levels and struggle with poverty, homelessness and substance abuse.
Mudra not only works as an organisation to do with dance,drama and recitation but also has huge impact towards the well being of the society. It has helped several people from all corners of the society with their basic necessity. For example education. Mudra has provided education to several children below poverty line free of cost. The organisation has stood beside people at difficult days. Every year Mudra takes leadership to provide new clothes at slums during our biggest festival Durga Puja.
Mudra has performed different cultural related activities with the convictors at Presidency Jail kolkata. It has also led its helping hands towards the flood affected victims at uttarakhand. This year Mudra has taken leadership to work with acid attack survivors during its 28th Annual day program.These people who are even afraid of showing their faces infront of the society, because of Mudra they have agreed to perform this year Annual Day at Rabindrasadan. The mission or vision of Mudra doesnot work to gain fame, publicity and popularity through newspaper, facebook,twitter and other social networking sites but to bring in happiness and smile in these innocent faces. Mudra will continue to do these social level activities as it belives their is nothing to gain or loose in this world, but to do good work and bring in happiness in those faces who really strive for happiness and bit of a smile.
